Welcome to Copywriting Angels the blog! This is a brand new blog website where you can read up on all the latest happenings in the world of copywriting and marketing.
My name is Ange Perkes and I’ve been a professional copywriter since 2003. Prior to that, I was working in the area of marketing and public relations.
I’m based in Sydney, Australia, but my clients are from all over the world!
In Australia, lots of people don’t know what copywriting is all about or what copywriters do. Much to my amusement, they think we’re somehow linked to insurance underwriting and copyright of the intellectual property kind!
But that’s not what we’re about!
Copywriters write sales and marketing copy!
So all the landing pages you see on the web, the actual web copy, sales letters you get in the mail, autoresponders you get in your email inbox…all of that stuff is generally written by copywriters!
We write the words that help people like you to sell whatever it is that you offer – be it a product or a service.
My specialty is sales copywriting, however I also write editorial copy – things like articles, reports and press releases as well.
So I wear a few hats so to speak.
Copywriting is a skill!
And not everybody has the ability to write words that result in sales. That’s why copywriters like myself are in demand.
Like most professions that are in demand, you will find that there is a great variation in terms of what copywriters charge for their services. Some charge an hourly rate, whereas others – like myself – will charge on a project basis.
For instance, if you enlisted me to write a sales letter for you, you would pay a flat rate price, based upon the word length of that sales letter.
So that’s a summary of what copywriting is in a nutshell!
